Feb/March is when you want to have your chilli seeds sown and germinating. To get the best germination results it is important to keep the compost moist and to pay careful attention to maintaining a temperature of around 27ºC.

The ideal way to ensure this is to keep the seed tray in a heated propagator and to monitor the temperature of the compost by using a thermometer that records maximum and minimum temperatures.

As soon as the seedlings germinate they must have sufficient light to ensure healthy plants.
